I’m Mandy and I will be joining Pacific Midwifery as of December 2018 and working in a team of three with Terry Lyn and Jesse during Carolyn’s maternity leave.
I discovered midwifery in my younger years and immediately knew it was the path destined for me. Before pursuing midwifery I worked for a number of years as a birth and hypno-doula here in Vancouver, then moved to the UK to complete my BSc in Midwifery at the University of the West of Scotland. I returned to the West Coast in 2015 and graduated from the Internationally Educated Midwives Bridging Program (IEMBP) through UBC in 2016. Since then I have had the pleasure of working with 3 different midwifery practices across the Lower Mainland.
As a midwife, I deeply enjoy journeying alongside families and helping them optimize their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. You’ll likely hear me discussing ways to eliminate fears or anxieties surrounding birth and techniques to improve your baby’s position for your birthing time!
I had the privilege of welcoming my first child into the world with the support of midwives in February 2018 and am excited to return to practice with the additional first-hand experience. I look forward to meeting you!
