My name is Chloe Perra and I am very excited to be a part of Pacific Midwifery!
From a young age I was drawn towards a career in health. My introduction to midwifery came after my first degree and I immediately knew this was how I wanted to support families. The concept of providing holistic care that focused on emotional and physical health and developing relationships with clients was refreshing. I was particularly drawn to the model of care, which focuses on autonomy, informed choice and continuity of care.
I completed the Midwifery Program at the University of British Columbia and have been fortunate to attend the births of families in Vancouver, Kelowna, Campbell River, and Uganda. Over the years, I have learned from many incredible midwives, obstetricians and nurses throughout BC, as well as Uganda. Prior to my midwifery training, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. It was during this education, where my understanding and fascination of the physiological processes of the body increased and I learned about the significance of the mind-body connection. I love being able to use this knowledge with my midwifery clients.
In my spare time I love camping, paddle boarding, and spending time by the ocean with my partner and dog... Really, any activity which gets me outside!
One of the most rewarding aspects of midwifery for me is seeing the transformation that clients and their families go through, and supporting individuals unique journey to parenthood. I am deeply thankful to be a part of your birth experience and look forward to meeting you!
